Head start

I got a head start on my sweater yesterday while sitting at the doctor’s office with Mr. Aitch.  He wasn’t able to drive himself to the appointment so I chauffeured him and got in some knitting time.

I had a picture of my progress but the color is WAY off so this will be a picture-less post.

I changed my mind

Do you remember a few weeks ago when I posted about wanting to knit this sweater?

With this yarn?

Papaya Heather

Well, I changed my mind.  I still love the sweater but I don’t think I will like for me.  The bottom would hit at certain part of my body that I would want covered.  And warm.  And though I have no problem wearing long-sleeved shirts under short-sleeved sweaters, I don’t think I can pull off that fashion statement anymore.

So what do I have my sights set on now?

Knit Simple Button Cardigan Fall 2008

Of course I love this green however I will be using the Knit Picks Papaya Heather.  But I don’t have enough.  I need two more balls.

No, I’m not starting this now.  I have too much knitting to do before Christmas.

Besides when I’m ready to start knitting, I may change my mind again.  I will order enough yarn to make this pattern…just in case.

Eyelet sweater photos

We went to a wedding over the weekend and I finally got a couple of pictures of the twins in the eyelet sweaters I made for them earlier this summer.  They were both actually standing relatively still for ten seconds.

The sweaters are still a bit too big so they will be able to wear them for a few more months.  Maybe even next spring.  Now that’s wishful thinking.

Traveling

I forgot what it was like traveling with small children.  We went to a wedding in Pittsburgh this weekend for Mr. Aitch’s niece.  It’s about a three-hour drive.  Our five-year-old grandson is a talker.

I thought I could knit in the car or at least during the rehearsal (our grandson was the ring bearer) but that didn’t happen.

I have a few…and I mean a FEW…pictures of the twins in their sweaters as well as my one-year-old granddaughter in the sweaters I recently knit.  It’s really hard to photograph a moving object!  I hope to get those off the camera this evening and if they are semi clear, I’ll post some.
