Yes, I hate seaming. It took three hours to seam the right side and sleeve on the papaya cardi.
I’m working on the crocheted edge. I have half of it done.
It’s taking me longer to do the finishing work than it did knitting the entire thing.

Happy Groundhog Day! No matter what the groundhog sees or doesn’t see, we’re still having six more weeks of winter.
It’s foggy outside. Very foggy. I don’t know why some people drive 65 mph when they can’t see one car length in front of them. About seven years ago there was a 100+ car pile-up close to where I now work because people drove 65 miles an hour in the fog when they couldn’t see one car length in front of them.
No knitting happened yesterday. I did go to work late once the temperature rose above freezing and I could drive down the driveway and hill to the main road. Sliding a half mile downhill in my car is not my idea of fun.
I am 3/4 of the way done with the special project that I wanted to have finished on Monday. And I still have the left side and sleeve to seam on the papaya cardi.
Am I afraid to finish these? I don’t know. My brain is foggy.
Last evening I spent two hours sewing in the sleeves on the papaya cardi. It didn’t happen with the first try. There was some undoing at times. Next step is to steam those seams while the sweater is still in the two-dimensional stage.
The side seams and sleeves will be easier as the stitches will all be going in the same direction.
There will be more crochet edging along the bottom edge but I think I can handle it.
Finding 1-inch buttons will be a challenge. Should I go with funky buttons? Subdued buttons? Plain buttons? Striped or patterned? Matching? Contrasting? Clear?
Oh, the choices!
I managed to do two rows of the single crochet edge on the sleeve edge of the cardi I’m knitting and only had to rip it once. I was picking up too many stitches. The fronts and back are blocked and should be dry by the time I get home from work. I still have to block the sleeves but I can do that while I finish the collar.
The final steps are to do the seaming, do the crocheted edge at the bottom and sew on the buttons, which I don’t have yet. Maybe I will make some if I can’t find what I want.
I’m very excited about this sweater. I just hope it fits and I like it, no, LOVE it!
I hope to have some pictures of it this weekend.
