I’m HOME

Yes, yes, yes, I’m back home!

But I can’t rest just yet.  Our daughter and family are coming here on Friday for Thanksgiving.  They will be here for the weekend then go to our S-I-L’s family for a few days and then head back to Colorado

It will be so much fun to see them again so soon (since I just left them) but I have a few things to do by Friday evening.

Are you expecting guests for Thanksgiving?

I’m leaving

Again.  It’s not such a long story and the details are unimportant.  I’m leaving on a jet plane…. to Colorado to take care of our grandchildren, granddogs (and grand chickens) for a few days.  Nothing serious happened, just a glitch and I’m so happy that I get to see them all so soon!

Mr. Aitch can’t go as we are in the midst of some home maintenance issues and someone has to stay home.

The grands will be in school Thursday and Friday, I just have to get them there and back home again.  We will have a great time on Saturday and Sunday. Mom and Dad will be home Sunday evening and I’ll be back in West, by God, Virginia on Monday.

It will be a whirlwind trip and I’ll be taking two knitting projects with me: Scrubby Sparkle and the fifth pattern in The Handmade Sock Society II. I’ll be using the Grumpy Gus yarn I bought last month to knit Sailing School Socks!

Annual pedis

We back last week from visiting our daughter and family in Colorado so I’ll be telling you a bit about our trip over the next few days.

Last year I took my daughter the girls (they are 10 years old) out for pedicures when we visited them so we decided to do that again this year.

My one granddaughter got a skeleton on her big toe and I got a pumpkin.

My daughter picked a beautiful autumn color and no nail art but the other grand got a ghost one her big toe.

I want to make this an annual event when we visit.

Two grands

Last week two of our grandchildren stayed with s for a few days.

They found my old typewriter that I used in college.  It wasn’t new when I bought it and I don’t have the manual for it anymore (if ever) so I’ve forgotten what some of the keys did or how to set the tabs.  But our grandson loved plinking around on it.

Our granddaughter typed a short story on it but was interested in making some shrink art.  We printed out some b/w pictures from the internet and she used colored pencils to liven them up.  I forgot to take pictures of the finished product.

We also made homemade ice cream, grilled pizza (their favorite), and watched a great movie that was “before their time”: Secondhand Lion.

Mr. Aitch and I were worn out when they went home.
