I finished the first sock of the fourth pair in the Handmade Sock Society season 2 series. I love it as well as all the other socks I’ve knit in this series.
I followed my row count as in the other socks and this one is a bit too small/short in the foot length. Like one-half to three-quarters of an inch. That might not seem like a lot as socks do have stretch to them, however, this one was stretched to the max and it would feel uncomfortable on my size 8 foot.
We’re headed to Mr. Aitch’s brother’s house this weekend (on the motorcycle – that’s another story) and my S-I-L wears a size six shoe. I’ll take the finished sock with me to see 1.) if it fits her foot and 2.) she would want the pair. If the answer is no to either of those questions, I’ll unknit the toe and add another pattern repeat. That should do it
But I’m casting on sock #2 anyway.
Last week two of our grandchildren stayed with s for a few days.
They found my old typewriter that I used in college. It wasn’t new when I bought it and I don’t have the manual for it anymore (if ever) so I’ve forgotten what some of the keys did or how to set the tabs. But our grandson loved plinking around on it.

Our granddaughter typed a short story on it but was interested in making some shrink art. We printed out some b/w pictures from the internet and she used colored pencils to liven them up. I forgot to take pictures of the finished product.

We also made homemade ice cream, grilled pizza (their favorite), and watched a great movie that was “before their time”: Secondhand Lion.
Mr. Aitch and I were worn out when they went home.
A couple of months ago I sent special Birthday Wishes to someone I know. Her birthday wass close to the beginning of the month so I found 15 small gifts plus a birthday card for her to open beginning 16 days before her birthday. Each gift was wrapped and labeled with the date to open.
Sorry that I don’t have a photo of all the wrapped gifts.
She is a knitter and needed some stitch markers so I decided to make a few for her.
Some were beads on a flexible wire that would fit over an US 15 needle.
And some were large jump rings with a bead glued over the seam.
All slid easily onto a large open ring to keep in her knitting bag.
Most of the items before wrapping:
Here’s the list of the items pictured above: small aluminum baking pans and pumpkin bread mix, Turbie Twist®, cake mix and Jello pudding, a set of spatulas, tissue packet, eyeglass holder, office supplies, planner sticky notes and flags, stitch markers, surfboard-shaped emery boards, Au Jus mix, sunflower potholders, coffee cup sticky notes, a small lidded organizer, and a sign for her office…
She loved each one.
