Traveling

I forgot what it was like traveling with small children.  We went to a wedding in Pittsburgh this weekend for Mr. Aitch’s niece.  It’s about a three-hour drive.  Our five-year-old grandson is a talker.

I thought I could knit in the car or at least during the rehearsal (our grandson was the ring bearer) but that didn’t happen.

I have a few…and I mean a FEW…pictures of the twins in their sweaters as well as my one-year-old granddaughter in the sweaters I recently knit.  It’s really hard to photograph a moving object!  I hope to get those off the camera this evening and if they are semi clear, I’ll post some.

Tea cozy pattern

A few weeks ago someone posted a pattern or link for a knitted pumpkin tea cozy.  I thought I saved the link to it but evidently I didn’t.  I’ve done a search for the cozy but haven’t found the one I was looking for.

It had deep ridges, was orange (duh),  and was a free pattern.  Other than those facts I can’t remember any more about it.

Does anyone remember this tea cozy?

Embellishments

I was on-line browsing though some beautiful knitty delights and realised I should have added some embellishments to the February Baby sweater I gave my granddaughter for her first birthday.  What was I thinking?  The solid pistachio green would have been the perfect background for some lovely daisy stitch flowers in between the garter stitch ridges.

Ok, now I remember.  I finished it the night before the party and was busy making buttons.

In the future I must think of embellishing my solid color knits.

Painting and knitting

Late Monday posting…

I disconnected my computer Friday and just got it back up and running this afternoon.  I painted the living room (where my computer lives) and finally got things put back together…almost.

Friday and Saturday nights I knitted on a seamless slipper (see pattern over there to the right) and got one finished.  I started the second one last night.  The previous ones I knit were purple.  These are orange.  Free yarn.

My knitting mojo seems to be on vacation.  Ms Ida is giving me fits.  (Sorry, Jude.)

The new chandelier is up in the dining room.  I didn’t exactly do it but I helped.

I’m not 100% in love with the paint color in the living room.  (You were right, Leah, I should have gone with the darker color.)  It’s blue and I’m a green person.  What was I thinking?  For the next couple of months I’m going to see if the color will work and if it doesn’t, I’ll repaint.

We plan to get crown molding in the dining and living rooms by next March so I have until that happens to decide on repainting the room.
