Warmth

In an attempt to warm up the house Monday evening I made 18 mini loaves of quick bread.

Twelve pumpkin and three cranberry/orange.

Only eleven and a half made it for a group photo.  Yum!  Even if they were from a boxed mix.

The rest may or may not make it to the freezer.

Tea

teaTea, please.  I’m not a coffee drinker.  I do love coffee ice cream and the smell of coffee but I just can’t drink it.  I tried to like it.  Just not for me.

My day starts with a cup of tea.  Right now my favorite is green chai tea.

The first time I tasted it, it reminded me of Christmas.  In fact I told my friend that it smelled like Christmas.  Spicy.  Sweet.  Comforting.  I add half and half and sugar to it and sometimes a bit of this pumpkin pie liqueur instead of sugar.

My day ends with a cup of peppermint tea.

Hot water and tea.  Nothing more.  Soothing.  Calming.  Relaxing.

Alas…I receive no compensation from Stash Tea or Fulton’s Harvest Pumpkin Pie Cream Liqueur.

Opportunity

Doing the NaBloPoMo (National Blog Post Month) has been a challenge to say the least.  My postings have been few and far between for well over a year.  When the opportunity to get back in the saddle came along, I decided to accept the challenge and post every day during November.

Todays post is about the Olive Oil Drip Catcher pattern I put in the My Designs page of this blog.  This little pattern has been one of my most popular.

It’s a quick knit using a small amount of fingering yarn.  Although I haven’t measured the amount of yarn, I do believe it is under 20 yards.

And it’s useful.

Want to learn how to knit with double-point needles but don’t want to commit to knitting a sock?  Here’s your opportunity to try this pattern.

If you don’t like the ruffle edge, just bind off before the increases.

Are you planning on gifting anyone with a bottle of flavored dipping olive oil or vinegar for Christmas (or Holiday of your choice)?  The Olive Oil Drip Catcher would be the perfect accompaniment, well, along with a loaf or two of great bread.

And while I’m at it, I’m taking the opportunity to plug one of my favorite stores:  Olive My Heart in Hudson, Ohio.  Yes, they do ship!

A is for apple…

I have had a craving for apples all week.  The apple I have at lunch just isn’t enough but since I buy only enough apples to get us through the week, I can’t have more than my allotment.  Says me.

Mr. Aitch isn’t home this evening so instead of raiding the apple drawer in the refrigerator, I chowed down on peanuts after dinner.

I’m regretting that decision right now.

By the way……November is National Blog Post Month aka NaBloPoMo.  This means that bloggers are encouraged to post something every day for the month of November.  The post need not be long or prophetic.  It just needs to happen.

I’ve thought about it before but never committed.

I’m committed this year.  Well, I may be committed before the month is over.  =)
