My front door

Before I write this post, I just want to tell you that my photos have taken a turn for the worse.  For some reason when I download photos from my camera, something happens and the photos disappear or the file is damaged.  So until this issue is remedied, my iPhone photos are going to be it.

I wanted something different for my front door this year so I bought three  20 inch wreaths, some fabric poinsettias in lime green, blue, and white, and blue and green ornaments.  I have enough red with the door and wanted this to stand out a bit.

The wreaths are wired together but I’m looking for some magnetic hooks so the bottom wreath can hang on its own.

Did you do anything special to your front door this year?

Painting

On my previous post I was going to my daughter’s house Wednesday night to help paint her living room. The “before” pictures:

We worked so hard for two days cleaning, painting, and cleaning again. I do not want to prime and paint another ceiling again! Painting walls are fine but I hate painting ceilings. I’m still scrubbing little dots of white paint off my arms.

The blue accent wall is now green and I think the room looks bigger.

I was so tired at the end of the day that I did not even open my knitting bag.

December 23 and a Revelation

To continue with what I did last Friday night…

Red paper with white dots

Now for the Revelation part.

Yesterday while I was at work reheating leftovers for lunch and trying to decide if I should get my knitting out during lunch, I had a revelation.  All knitting projects (except Mr. Aitch’s Musica mitts) are on hold.  I have been knitting feverishly for several days trying to get gift knitting finished for today.  Gift knitting for my co-workers.  Not happening.  I was putting too much pressure on myself and needed a break.  It wasn’t fun anymore.

My family means more to me than my co-workers.  Sorry, Co-workers, but I don’t think any of you read this blog anyway.  Your Christmas gifts will be finished after Christmas.  Like it or not, that’s the way it is.

Has that ever happened to you?

December 21

We had Christmas with my son and his family.  My grandson helped decorate the tree.  If it’s still light when I get home, I’ll post pictures of his skillful placement of the ornaments.

This is what I worked on this past Friday evening:
