Fresh

Yesterday I got a surprise at work from Mr. Aitch:

One dozen red roses

My office smells so lovely and fresh.  The sun was even shining for part of the day.  Spring is on its way.

However, winter isn’t quite ready to leave just yet.  Yesterday started out at 51 degrees but by 2:00 pm we had rain mixed with sleet and snow and 34 degrees.  Yuck.

This morning it was 24 degrees.  Cold enough for my new hat!

Been busy

The soaker was sent yesterday and as soon as I know it was received I will post pictures.

I knit three hats last week.  One for a friend, one for Mr. Aitch, and one for me.

Joe's hat

Yes, I actually knit myself a hat.  I wasn’t going to make one for me but when I went to work on Tuesday, it was bitter cold and the wind was really blowing.  I was going to mail the hat to my friend right after work so I had it with me.  I took it out of the bag and wore it from my car into the office building.  It kept my head warm but most of all it kept my ears warm.  I only had the hat on for about 3-4 minutes and didn’t have “hat hair” so I decided I needed one of these hats for these bitter cold days.

I also knit up an iPhone cozy.  I don’t have an iPhone but I see one in my future.

I knit this pattern from Brent Annable using leftover Saucy Sport mercerized cotton yarn.

Only 48 stitches

All I had to do to finish a soaker was to pick up 48 stitches along the leg opening and knit in a k1p1 rib for 10 rows.  It took me over an hour to pick up those 48 stitches.

I bound off at 10:00 last night and thought about weaving in the ends before I went to bed.  Decided against it.  I should finish it tonight and send it off to cover a cute baby bottom.

Maybe I’ll even remember to take a picture of it before I send it.

My papaya cardi is still a UFO (unfinished object).  I discovered not one but two mistakes in the collar.  They are not that noticeable but I know they are there so I will frog and reknit.

I should be able to take some pictures of these things this weekend.  Stay tuned…
