Sold out

Knit Picks doesn’t have the dye lot for the yarn I may need to finish the Peony Twist cardigan I’m making.  I did check Ravelry and several people there have the dye lot so I’m going to see if any one would be willing to sell or trade…just in case I need more.

So if you have one skein of Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Peony #5606 dye lot #7595 and are willing to trade/sell, please leave a comment.

I hope the stitches relax and even out when I block it.

Overdye

At least that’s what I think it’s called.

This is not directly a knitting post but I know there are many knitters that dye yarn.  I have a dye question.

I have a wonderful denim wrap skirt.  It fits great, is A-line, is the right length, has the nicest buttons.  And is age appropriate.  I love everything about it.  Except the color.

Denim skirt

Not a good picture but it’s the only one I have available right now.

It’s too light.  It’s a washed-out denim.

I’d like to dye it a darker blue but have little experience in dyeing anything other than Easter eggs and the tie-dye T-shirts we did in art class.

My biggest fear is that I will ruin it forever.  I will wear it as it is now but if I could change make it darker, I would.  If it comes out a yucky blue, I’ll be very upset.

It has a little bit of metal on it so “curing” it in the microwave is out.

Have you ever dyed anything successfully?  Help!

Late post

Well, it’s late for me.

Yesterday as I was sitting and knitting on the Peony Twist cardigan, I mentioned to Mr. Aitch that the only good thing about being sick over the Spring Forward clock-changing weekend is that one is already off schedule so one wouldn’t miss the hour of sleep.

Well, who heard their alarm go off this morning and fell back asleep only to wake up 15 minutes before she had to actually Be. At. Work?

b-r-r-i-i-i-i-n-n-n-n-g-g-g-g!

Yeah.

I was 45 minutes late and stayed an extra half hour to make up for it.  The assistant director told me not to worry about it.  We don’t punch a time-clock and he notices when I stay late some days.

Plus he was late today, too.  No judgements, just saying.

Felt bad, getting better

In my last post I wasn’t feeling too well.  Sometimes I think it’s just all in my head.  Not this time.  Well, part of it is.

I have a sinus infection.  But that’s not why I ended up going to the doctor yesterday.

Have you ever heard of serum sickness?  Me either.  It’s similar to an allergic reaction to a vaccine.  Yep, the pneumonia vaccine made me sick.  Very sick.  Go figure.  This is supposed to keep me well and it makes me sick.

The medications for both the sinus infection and the serum sickness have started to kick in and I feel better today.  Not great, but better.

I was still able to knit.  I’m making the Tangerine Twist cardigan by Susan Todhunter.  Isn’t that little wave pattern cute?

Peony Twist

From the comments on Ravelry the waist shaping wasn’t quiet right.  Looking at the schematic, it doesn’t make sense so I’m making my own adjustments as I knit.  With my head full of yucky stuff and my body aching my math was a bit off.  I may have definitely started the waist shaping too soon.  Like three inches too soon.  So I will frog back 10 rows (oh, that hurts) and redo the shaping.

Peony Cardi

I’ll still be 18 rows to the good.  And it’s better to do that now than after the sweater is done and doesn’t fit the way I envision.  Right?
