I like to wind yarn into balls myself. That way I can see if there are any knots of other anomalies in the hank.

I wound the Grumpy Gus yarn into a ball before I left for Colorado. I was ready to cast on for the THSS II Sailing School Sock while the grands were in school this morning and was surprised by a sick ball of yarn.

I don’t remember winding so tightly but I evidently did.

It will probably take me the next three hours to get it fixed then the grands will be home from school.
