D is for dilemma

I was  going to post about the end of Daylight Savings Time in the United States but found the information confusing.  There were various reasons for DST ranging from energy savings to an increase of leisure evening activities as well as driving safety.  There are many more, too.

My confusion is that if we DST lasts for more than six months, why is Standard Time the standard?  In the U.S. DST begins the second weekend in March and lasts until the first weekend in November.

That’s eight months!

And confusing.

So my post for today is about “do”.

Do you remember these?

  1. Do or not do.  There is no try. – Yoda
  2. Do-Ri-Mi – Julie Andrews
  3. Do the Walls Come Down? – Carly Simon
  4. Do They Know It’s Christmas? – Band Aid
  5. Do Wah Diddy Diddy Dum Diddy Do – Manfred Mann
  6. Do You Believe in Love? – Huey Lewis and the News
  7. Do You Believe in Magic? – Lovin’ Spoonful
  8. Do You Hear What I Hear?
  9. Do You Know The Way to San Jose? – Dionne Warwick
  10. Do You Know Where We’re Going to? – Diana Ross
  11. Do You Love Me? – The Contours
  12. Do You Really Want to Hurt Me? – Culture Club
  13. Do You Want to Dance? – Johnny Rivers or Bette Midler
  14. Do You Want to Know a Secret? – The Beatles

Wrapped up for gifting today.  It will be cold enough for the twins to wear their new hats.  I hope I remember to take pictures.

On another note (pun intended) Mr. Aitch and I went to a concert last night to hear and see his favorite band of all time: Spyro Gyra.  They are described as an American jazz fusion band.  You’ve probably heard their music even if you don’t recognize their name.

It was great.  Our table was right up front.   Mr. Aitch bought their new Christmas CD and had it autographed.   He told Jay Beckenstein (original member) that he’s never stood in line for anyone’s autograph in his entire life.  I took their picture for posterity.  The lighting was bad and I was using my phone.  Mr. Aitch doesn’t care.  He’s happy.
