The lunch bag fold

Our daughter-in-law and grandchildren were at our house this past weekend.

Our almost-seven-year-old grandson didn’t want his sandwich at lunch so I packed it for him to take home.

He was in awe as I handed the lunch bag to him.  He said, “You folded the bag just like they do at McDonald’s.”

His eyes got really big.  Then he asked, “Nona, did you used to work at McDonald’s?”

5 things so far

Here are five things about me so far today that you probably don’t care about:

  1. The weather was perfect for taking the motorcycle to work.  Cloudy but no fog.  I hate fog.  The temperature was 72 F.  It’s supposed to get into the upper 80s by the time I leave for home but it’s ok if I get sweaty then.  I’m just going home.
  2. My leather riding pants don’t fit me any more.  Too small.  I had to wear my chaps.
  3. I had my motorcycle registration and insurance card in my hand this morning for my bike.  I have two different motorcycle jackets so I don’t keep it in either one.  By the time I was dressed and ready to go, I couldn’t find the cards.  I looked for at least five minutes and could have been staring right at them but I couldn’t see them.  So I left without them.  I hope I don’t get stopped on my way home.
  4. I know I had my registration and insurance cards yesterday since Mr. Aitch and I went to get our driver’s license renewed.  We had to provide FIVE forms of identification, proof of citizenship and residency.  I used my motorcycle registration as one form of residency.  BTW my new photo is terrible.  I look 10 years older and 25 pounds heavier.  See #2 above.
  5. Someone was cooking bacon this morning.  It smelled so good.
  6. Even though I was seven minutes late for work this morning, I was still the first one in the office.
  7. I can’t count.

Wedding weekends

The past two weekends were filled with two weddings.  The first one was out of town which resulted in me pet sitting for part of that time.  The second wedding was local.

The twins were flower girls in the first wedding.  The only still photos I have were taken with my phone.

E is on the left and is trying to be cute and she’s successful.  Z is on the right and is trying so hard not to smile.  Not so successful.

Here we are waiting to leave for the reception.

I love my dress and wore it again this weekend.  No one who attended the first wedding was gong to attend the second so I felt safe to repeat the same outfit.

This weekend’s wedding has no pictures to go with it.  As I said it was local so Mr. Aitch and I didn’t have to juggle too many things to attend.

I really need a few days to myself to catch up on everything I’ve kind of let go.  This has been a busy summer and I only have two weeks of “summer hours” left.  I enjoy having an extra day off during the week but the 10-hour work days are really taking their toll.

Later this week I will have an update on the Sheep Carousel.

Things I ponder

The electricity went out in our area around 4:15 this morning thus knocking out my alarm clock.  It eventually came back on but I didn’t wake up until 6:15 a.m.  I need to be out of the house by 6:30.  Needless to say I was late for work.

In my haste to get ready and not be too late, I forgot to pack something for breakfast that I planned to eat once I got to work.  I usually have cereal bars or something like that stashed away in my desk but I ate the last one yesterday morning.

What to do?  So I ventured to the vending machines to see what deliciousness was available.  We have been in this building for three and a half years and this was the first time I actually bought anything from the vending machines.  A 76 gram carbohydrate and 420 calorie cinnamon roll was calling me.

So when you eat a cinnamon roll, do you just dig in and eat it or do you uncurl it while you eat?  Just one of the many things I ponder.
