dab, dab, sniff

Do you remember the post where my daughter bought buttons and asked if I would knit the twins sweaters that matched those buttons?

Well, I just finished the body of the second sweater and was ready to start the sleeves when I discovered something was wrong.

Terribly wrong.

I lost 10 stitches across the back section.

Well, I didn’t actually lose them.  I didn’t cast on enough to begin with!

This sweater needs to be finished by Saturday morning.

Pass the tissues, please.

Variety is the spice of life

On my way to work this morning I experienced a variety of weather.

It was cloudy and misty when I left my house.  Then a ray of sunshine shown on the mountains and drenched them in brilliant red.  This same beam of sunshine also caught the rising fog and mist and created a short but beautiful rainbow.  I wanted to stop and take a picture but knew as soon as I would, the scene would change again.

It got misty again then rained.  As I crested the last mountain I was greeted with rain mixed with snow and the ground had a powdered sugar dusting of snow.

I’ve lived my entire life with four seasons and I love it.  I just happened to see all those seasons this morning within a 25 minute drive to work.

Spirit

For some reason I am in the Christmas spirit.front-door-1.2011

You may think I’m nuts for saying that but the past 10-12-14 years, I have not had much of the Christmas spirit in me.  Last year I put a wreath on the door and hung out the garland on the front porch but no other decorating inside until I found out some friends were coming over.  I rushed to The Barn two days before Christmas and bought a 6 foot tall “primitive” tree at 40% off.  Used a few choice ornaments from my collection and called it Christmas.  Bah humbug.

While I’m in the Christmas decorating spirit, I better do something about it!
