The best laid plans

SaturdayMy Saturday hasn’t gone the way I planned.

The dryer stopped spinning.  It was still heating but the drum wasn’t turning.  And when did I discover this phenomenon?  When I already started a load of clothes.

We were pretty sure it’s a belt so Mr. Aitch and I pulled the dryer out of it’s snug place between the wall and the washer to see if we could fix it.  Um.  No.  We couldn’t even figure out how to access the inside so we decided to call a repair man.

On a Saturday.

Right before Christmas.

He might be able to squeeze us in on Monday.

So my Saturday was spent cleaning the laundry room.  I don’t know about you but I don’t pull my washer or dryer out on a regular basis to clean under or behind it.  I know it’s just a combination of dryer lint, humidity, and a bottle that only had a tablespoon of liquid detergent left in it and leaked out but it was still gross.

Then I took my wet clothes to the laundromat to use the dryer.

I planned to work on my knitting while waiting for the clothes to dry.  I was at a decrease part so I really needed the pattern.

That was on my iPad.

That was at home.

The good news is that the world didn’t end yesterday.  I have access to a laundromat.  We have a dusting of snow for Christmas.  I’m home safe and sound with my knitting AND pattern.

  1. I must have a legal pad filled with lists I have started since 1970…….most of the ‘to do’s’ are non-existant by now. it should just be a SUGGESTED ideas list. Just when YOU think you have it all figured out…boom…..that one little thing happens and throws it all out of balance……time to re-calculate.
