I don’t believe it. My local yarn shop is going out of business.
Millicent’s Yarn and More has been here for 13 years and the availability of “good” yarn is what got me back into serious knitting.
Doors close on April 4 so there is still time to use up the remainder of my gift certificate.
Maybe someone else will see the need for a quality yarn shop…
heartbreaking! There is nothing like a good LYS

I think people around here like the selection of yarns so I’m hoping that someone will pick up the slack. The next closest yarn shop is probably 75 miles away.

75 miles? That is just too far. I hope someone comes along and buys it.

maybe YOU!!! Please read this: https://whimseytopia.wordpress.com/2011/10/10/visit-your-local-needlework-shop/
I wrote it years ago before I moved to the mountains (where I am now surrounded by at least five amazing yarn shops), but I get your angst. Think about it Patti. You’d be a great shopkeeper….teaching and always smelling like soft wool. Ahhhhhhh……

Um, not me, dear, not me. I’ve worked with small businesses and owners for the past 17 years and if there is one thing I’ve learned in that time, it’s that being a business owner not for me. The shop keeping and teaching (though I’m still learning), I would consider. The business side of it all, no way.
