SOS

The cover for Mr. Aitch’s tablet before felting.  I think it’s big enough.

After felting, it’s too short.  An inch too short.

I do have more yarn.  In fact I have enough yarn to knit another one.

The tablet is 9 x 7 1/5.  The cover is 10 x 6 1/2.

Can I do something to this to fix it?

Do over?

Any suggestions?

  1. Oh crap. I would hate for you to have to knit it all over again.

The only thing I can think of to do would be to put the tablet in a ziploc bag and try to wetblock the cozy that way. That MAY give you the inch that you need.

  2. I dont know if it would work or not because I’ve only felted a couple times, but what if you took out the seam at the bottom and added another 2-3 inches of stitching. Then refelt it. The felted part, I would think, would be pretty much where its going to stay. The part added would catch up to it? Then reseam it. Other than trying that, I don’t know what else you might do besides reknitting it.

  3. You could keep it as a reminder of your fallibility which is what I do with almost everything I knit. That’s a joke Patti.

Actually you could do a lot of things with it. Sew it into a nice makeup case, change purse (perhaps the change might fall out though), something to hold safety pins and markers for your knitting basket. I do love those WVa colors. Much nicer than VaTech’s.

Sorry for your trouble. Something like this would kill me, but you always handle it with grace, style, and tenacity. Patsye
