First class

Sorry for my absence from here.  I’ve been preoccupied with stuff….like life.

Anyway, I signed up for my very first knitting class.  I’ve been knitting off and on for 40+ years and have never taken a knitting class.  I figured I didn’t need to.  But when I saw this beautiful felted handbag at my LYS (local yarn store) last month, I decided I was going to sign up for a class if it was offered.  So I did!

The class starts September 14 and is three two-hour sessions.  Scroll down to the third section: Modular Knitting: Amber’s Garter Stitch Squares Felted Handbag.  You can check out the pattern on Ravelry here.

Knitting 22 squares isn’t a big deal but I want to learn how to make this with as few seams as possible.  I’ve never done modular/enterlac knitting before nor have I felted anything (on purpose) before so this class should be a win-win.  Plus I’ll finish this in no time.  Win-win-win!!

The hardest part will be deciding what two colors of yarn to use…  Charcoal grey and ???

  1. Good for you. I’ve always wanted to take a class, but I don’t handle my knitrting needles the correct way and I’m too old to try to change that.
