Sorry for my absence from here. I’ve been preoccupied with stuff….like life.
Anyway, I signed up for my very first knitting class. I’ve been knitting off and on for 40+ years and have never taken a knitting class. I figured I didn’t need to. But when I saw this beautiful felted handbag at my LYS (local yarn store) last month, I decided I was going to sign up for a class if it was offered. So I did!
The class starts September 14 and is three two-hour sessions.
http://www.millicentsyarns.com/newsletter.html Scroll down to the third section: Modular Knitting: Amber’s Garter Stitch Squares Felted Handbag. You can check out the pattern on Ravelry here.
Knitting 22 squares isn’t a big deal but I want to learn how to make this with as few seams as possible. I’ve never done modular/enterlac knitting before nor have I felted anything (on purpose) before so this class should be a win-win. Plus I’ll finish this in no time. Win-win-win!!
The hardest part will be deciding what two colors of yarn to use… Charcoal grey and ???
…black. So classy! Or if you want to add a bit of pizzazz…go with a very bright color. The grey will definitely offset it.

Black would be classy!
I’m going to try to get to my LYS today. We’re using Cascade 220 and I think there might be 4,382 color choices… Decisions, decisions…

Good for you. I’ve always wanted to take a class, but I don’t handle my knitrting needles the correct way and I’m too old to try to change that.

Your mother taught us how to knit and we hold our knitting needles the same way. I was told I hold my needles for “production” knitting so it’s a right way.
