I’m late for the festivities and things are moving a bit slow around here but more about that later.
Santa (aka Mr. Aitch) knew I didn’t need any new yarn and that I’m trying to use up stash yarn but I wish I got some knitterly motivation to get my WIPs (works in progress) finished. He did come through with something under the tree…
…and a 2026 Honda Passport in the garage.
It’s been out of the garage twice, once on Christmas Day for the photo-op and yesterday to set up a few tech things.
Both Mr. Aitch and I have been a bit under the weather lately. He started the day after Christmas and I waited until last Sunday to feel bad. We’re not sure if it is a cold, sinus infection, flu, or the disease-that-shall-not-be-named rearing it’s ugly head. Mr. Aitch seems to have bounced back while I’m still dragging. I lost my sense of taste and smell on Tuesday so over-eating or snacking because the food tastes so good. Texture can be interesting and I could almost get the sinus-clearing sensation when I slathered some horseradish on my ham sandwich.
How was your holiday season so far? Fun, quiet, loud, simple, over-the-top, entertaining, full of surprises, perfect?

well, that’s a lovely gift! We had a quiet Christmas and New Year’s Eve, my life has been a soap opera since September – I will blog about it all when I can but for now, I have to remain quiet. (I’m fine, Bear’s fine, Maverick is fine.) I hope you feel better soon!

Very low key. My usual family companions went to Montreal, so no Christmas with them! I spent Christmas Eve and Day with one of my Quaker Knitting Goddess buddies; went over to her house in New Hampshire Christmas Eve for a very quiet celebration with one of our friends, then Christmas Day went to the friends’ house a couple of miles away for dinner. Then a couple of days later my knitting friend went to cook for a retreat center, and I dog sat for Mojo for a few days. After the dog mama returned home, I went up to northern Vermont to my sister and brother-in-law, who had returned from Canada, for New Years Eve; traditionally we go to one of their neighbors for the neighborhood bonfire and munchies. Again low key; only about a dozen people. Since then I’ve been knitting, mostly; I’m working my way through the requested items for the adult grandchildren. I’ll go home Tuesday, by way of a lunch over in New Hampshire. It’s a nice break from everyday life – but no return to work for me; I’m retired and enjoying it!
