Olive Oil Drip Catcher

Olive Oil Drip Catcher

Keep your olive oil from running down the sides of the bottle and making an oily mess on your countertop and hands.  This drip catcher is like a short sock with the ribbed cuff folded down to add an extra layer of absorbency.  The decorative ruffle edge also helps keep the bottle cleaner.

Finished size: about 1 ¼ inches tall (folded) and 4 inches in circumference.

Materials:  Yarn: Fingering weight, superwash.  Shown here: Knit Picks Stroll in Peapod (75% superwash wool, 25% nylon; 231 yards): about 14 yards.

Needles:  US 2 (2.75 mm) set of 4-5 double point (dpn)

Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle.

  1. I see why this took you so long. The logistics of putting this up must have been difficult. Very nice, and that’s a cute idea – something I could do probably, but then who knows with me. And you are right. The olive oil I buy at Costco is in a dripless bottle that drips all over the place.

  2. What a great idea! And as someone else said, a great idea, too, for a tea pot!!! Thank you for sharing, and your copyright notice is awesome (and will be obeyed)!
