The calendar says I’m one age and my mind says another. I don’t think I’m as old as I am.
I’m in the process of decluttering my life with all the stuff I’ve been accumulating to help keep the sanity.
Living in the mid-Atlantic area. Married to the same man, Mr. Aitch, for a long, long time. Two kids and four five grandkids. Sometimes I ride on the back of a Harley with Mr. Aitch and I used to ride my own Suzuki Boulevard. I had to sell it as my legs didn’t have the strength to keep it upright when stopped.
I love to knit, paint, sew, cross stitch, dabble in paper crafts (not scrapbooking but other things with paper like origami), ceramics, draw, do printmaking, make polymer clay buttons, sew, drink wine, and eat though I can’t do all of those things at the same time. I have a degree in Art Education (and taught art for several years) so most artsy things appeal to me. As much as I think I would like to spin my own yarn, learn to fuse glass, or take up weaving, I really don’t need another hobby. See the above decluttering statement.
Edit: I started quilting. More stuff to deal with.
I love stranded knitting and want to learn more about designing. Dyeing yarn is on my to-do list. Edit: Did it!
Felting intimidates me. I like to know what something will be rather than risk disaster…like the surprise felting that happens. Oops! Edit: I’ve successfully felted! And I love it. Yes, it’s unpredictable but that’s ok.
Silkscreening and block printing were a huge part of my life BC (before children) and I never got back to it even though both children are now adults and living their own lives. Designing my own printed fabric is something I really want to do.
Several years ago my daughter and I started “thinking” about opening an etsy shop. We have our product, we just need the time to devote to it and have the confidence to sell things.
Back in the ‘80’s when country decorating was big, I did the whole tole painting thing and sold my things in area craft shows. I even won 3rd place for an original basket. Before every show, I’d worry about whether anyone would buy my things. They did and I even sold out of some items. But I still worry about it, hence my reluctance to start the etsy shop.
Oh, yeah, the photo of me standing on the rocks was taken on our motorcycle trip to Newfoundland. Beautiful place. I want to go back sometime. Got Screeched in, too.
Hi, nice to meet you !

Hi Patti. Thanks for subscribing to my blog. I hope you get a laugh out of it, though I’ll try often to put up something useful…when possible…like freezing strawberries.
I’m not purging yet, and still collect junk for my collages. At the moment I’m working on my Valentine’s mantle, which will take me a while. I’m looking forward to reading your blog, which I will start with right now.
I love sharing ideas and art. And I’m very complimented when someone actually subscribes. Patsye

Hi Patti
I have been thinking about learning to knit for a while now. My 10yr old son actually does it as part of his school curriculum and loves it! Who would have thought? Its in my future
.
I am spending more time trying to get this whole blog thing going then actually creating these days..kind of crazy.
Your work is great – get it on etsy!

I love how you can teach me to make some of the things that you know how to do. You are a great teacher.

Love the sweater, How much yarn do you need? You write the kind of yarn but not how much.
Thank you!

One skein (or less). This was my first pattern and I didn’t really see how much yarn I had left over.

Hi Patti
I have been following your blog for a couple of years now and thoroughly enjoy it and you. I hope you never stop. You are inspirational. Thank you. I also have gotten to the point in my life where purging is a good thing. Time to pass it along or out it goes. I also have been into a lot of different crafts through my life. Even though I have a huge stash of yarn I am getting to the point where less seems like more. Again, hello and thank you.

Open the Etsy shop! You can always close it. But I’ll bet you won’t have to. Life is short!
