Part 2 of the robin saga.
So far the lion didn’t work. Nor the fluorescent marker idea from some other websites. Nor the picture of a cat.
Dirty birds! They sit on the railing and attack their reflection through the screens. Then they sit on the railings and poop then start all over again.
Waxed paper on the outside of the outside of the windows seems to work…until it rains. Our front porch is covered so the waxed paper was still good but…
…not so much on the back window.
I went to our tiny town post office and decided to stop at one of the “dollar’ stores looking for mylar pinwheels to stick in some styrofoam in front of the big window in the back of our house. No pinwheels but they did have a rubber snake and mylar balloons.
I scrubbed the back of the house and window sill before I placed my new friend there. You can see the striped and patterned pillows in the window. I was hoping they would be enough of a distraction to keep the birds from attacking the window. Didn’t work.
Will this $2 trick work? I hope so!
Well, if it doesn’t work you are at least providing entertainment for the neighbors! LOL

Crazy entertainment at its best!

Good grief! They are stubborn birds! Are they nesting nearby or something?
How about a garland of aluminum pie tins or something that will sway in the wind and clear them off?

I’m not sure where they’re nesting but at least they aren’t nesting on our deck or front door!
The balloons is swaying but if one doesn’t work, I might need to get more or try the foil pie pans. Thanks for the idea!

Very glad they aren’t nesting right there! And hopefully bouncing balloons will do the trick! Keep us posted!

I love the balloon idea. The aluminum pans should work, too. I don’t like the snake, even if it is a rubber one! But it should work.

Not a snake fan either. Fortunately we can’t see that from inside the house. On the other hand the balloon is very visible. Freaked me out last night as I could see the reflection from the lights inside as it bobbed around in the dark.

Wow. You do have a huge issue with those birds! What if you put a soapy wash off film on the outside of the windows so there is no reflection?

I will need to look into that. Thanks!
