Do you Secretly Knit Under Your Desk (SKUYD) at work or school?
I take my knitting to work but feel guilty knitting there unless I’m away from my desk. I have an hour for lunch. Most of the time I eat lunch at my desk and can’t bring myself to get out my knitting bag even though I have plenty of time. I mean, how long does it take to eat a piece of fruit and carton of yogurt? I feel like I’m knitting on company time.
Occasionally I do knit during lunch but always feel guilty if I’m knitting at my desk.
So do you SKUYD at work or school?

I used to knit at my desk. I would get strange looks, but I really didn’t care. 😉

No – Don’t feel guilty. It’s your time!!! I tell my students that they are more than welcome to knit in class. No one has taken me up on it yet, so I figure I shouldn’t try to knit and teach at the same time. 🙂

I knit at lunch sometimes, but I can close my office door so nobody can see. I always felt bad doing it in class too…for those who don’t knit I think it can look like the person is not paying attention.

I WISH I could take my sewing machine to work…..but I don’t have a really good hiding place to go and work with it. It just wouldn’t work at all. I do go to the bathroom and read my emails and messages on my blackberry though! If I only had some good games on it to play I would stay in there a really long time.!!!!
