Twist update

Sorry no pictures of my progress today.  When I got home from work yesterday, Mr. Aitch had a big pot of veggie soup simmering and the wonderful aroma was too much for me to resist.  I dove right in.  Then there was not enough light to get any good pictures.

But I digress.

I have been working of the Peony Twist cardi each evening and have 1-3 more rows before I divide for the armholes.  I think I might run out of yarn.

I’m using Knit Picks Comfy Worsted in Peony and have seven balls of 109 yards or 763 yards.  I’ve substituted yarn from my stash and got the exact gauge.  The medium size calls for four balls of yarn of 205 yards or 820 yards.   And the next size up also calls for the same number of balls of yarn.

So I’m thinking I might just have enough even though I’m technically 63 yards short.***

Maybe I should see if Knit Picks has another ball in the same dyelot…just to be safe.

***Edit:  My math was wrong.  I’m technically 57 yards short.

What would you do?  Go for it or be safe?

  1. I’d ask for another just in case. If you are in love with the way it is turning out, you’ll be upset if you can’t finish it!

  2. Get the extra skein. Take it back if you don’t use it. It would be worse to not have enough! That is a very cute pattern…love the color!

  3. I agree. Get another skein. I don’t see how anyone can say that a sweater may take so many yards. Some people knit tight and some people knit loose.
